Ronald at the Royal Albert Hall
From street child to the Royal Albert Hall. On Sunday March 12th, during Alison Balsom’s spectacular concert at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, trombonist Ronald Kabuye thrilled the audience as he performed along side jazz legend Guy Barker.
Both Alison and Guy are Patrons of the charity and Ronald, a teacher for Brass for Africa in Uganda, was invited to represent the charity and the young musicians in his home country at this incredible event. Ronald and Guy received rapturous applause and cheers after their electrifying and energy fuelled rendition of Eddie Harris’ “Cold Duck Time”.
Invited to say a few words to the audience Ronald spoke movingly about his dream to perform at such a venue coming true and how music has literally saved his life and given him a platform on which to build his future.
