The Circle is a committed group of generous, visionary donors who believe in the power of music to create brighter futures. Without The Circle, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
LEADING THE FUTURE OF BRASS FOR AFRICA
Current members of The Circle have pledged two-year commitments of at least £5k per year.
The Circle is comprised of industry leaders, creatives, investors, executives, family foundations, and more. Members of The Circle provide more than just financial support – they are also our most loyal and visionary partners. The Circle enables us to confidently plan strategically for the future, hire an excellent team in Africa, take bold and groundbreaking action, and accomplish our long-term vision.
SEE THE IMPACT MADE POSSIBLE IN 2020.
YOUR IMPACT: WHAT YOU MAKE POSSIBLE
By committing to support us for three-year terms, members of The Circle allow us to confidently plan over a longer period of time, ensuring we can deliver programmes efficiently and reach even more disadvantaged children and young people.
OPERATIONS & THE TEAM
FUNDING ESSENTIAL CORE COSTS
The majority of our programmes have been awarded specific funding, meaning we often rely on unrestricted donations to cover our necessary core costs. This includes, for example, our Training Centre in Kampala (Uganda). It has a bandstand performance space, practice rooms, an instrument repair facility, a music library, and our management teams offices. Over 95% of our staff are African and live and work in Africa. The majority have come from our programmes themselves. These are real people with real families and responsibilities, all hugely concerned for their livelihood and their ability to support their loved ones, now more than ever. The security your funding provides means that our global team can fully focus on our core mission of creating brighter futures, and quite literally, save lives. If you have a specific area of interest or want to fund something specific please get in touch directly.
EMPOWERING INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITIES
Your support means that some of our brightest talents in Africa get incredible opportunities to perform on some of the world’s most distinguished stages through international tours and special projects. Recent highlights include performing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and The Cheltenham Music Festival alongside Wynton Marsalis. In 2022, COVID19 permitting, we hope to be travelling to Switzerland for a two-week tour with BfA musicians from Uganda.
FIELD WORK & PROJECTS
TRANSFORMING & SAVING LIVES
You make our life-changing work across Uganda, Rwanda and Liberia possible. Your support contributes to the delivery of +20 outreach programmes, benefiting over 1000 participants twice a week*. You also give us the margin to launch pioneering and bold initiatives – including recent new partnerships with OXFAM Voice or the UNHCR – to support some of the most overlooked and disadvantaged children and young people on this planet.
