Root Foundation

The Root Foundation is a local charitable organisation based in Kigali (Rwanda) that works to empower vulnerable children through personal development, education and family empowerment programmes. Its goal is to support street children to go to school and equip them with the materials they need to pursue their studies.

Since January 2019, Brass for Africa has provided Music and Life-Skills training to over 100 children and young people at the Root Foundation Centre. Brass music is rare in Rwanda, yet our participants have already performed for government officials and at prestigious locations. These young people have flourished under the leadership of the Brass for Africa Music and Life-Skills Teachers.
