KISOBOKA – EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
CONCERTO GROSSO FOR BRASS FOR AFRICA & SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – COMPOSED BY GUY BARKER MBE & ALAN FERNIE
In April 2023, six Brass for Africa musicians from Uganda will travel to Spain to premier KISOBOKA – (Everything Is Possible), a specially commissioned concerto grosso for Brass for Africa & symphony orchestra, composed by Guy Barker MBE and Alan Fernie.
The piece will premier with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León conducted by Thierry Fischer, followed by performances with the Orquesta Sinfonica de la Region De Murcia conducted by Yaron Traub and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao conducted by Erik Nielsen. Comprised of five movements, each will portray the reality of life in sub-Saharan Africa, and the power of music to transform lives.
Kisoboka is commissioned by Brass for Africa and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León with the collaboration of Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra
