A new partnership in Kampala!

Due to the amazing success of our #ChooseToChallenge Gender Equality Campaign in March 2021, where over 150 BfA supporters came together to raise funds to support music & life skills sessions for girls and young women in Uganda a new programme has been established.

The Muwala Asobola Community Initiative (MACI), is a brand new locally-run organisation that, in its own words are, “Creating Space for Girls Potential”.

Faridah, one of the pioneers behind this new organisation, is a beneficiary of one of Brass for Africa’s previous partnerships with Plan International. She came to us for support with her peers, and through the success of the campaign and everyone’s help, this new partnership has been made possible.

As of May 2021, we have been bringing Music and Life-Skills to MACI twice a week into the impoverished settlement of Kawempe where this programme is running. Through these sessions, many girls and young women in Faridah’s community now have the opportunity to be engaged, feel empowered and understand their value.

Thank you!
